Larchmaker is the trading name for Rachel Lankester, a 20 year corporate and  financial communications expert.

Rachel was, until February 2007, Group Communications Manager for the FTSE 100 global technology business, Smiths Group plc. Prior to Smiths, she was a Director at the City consultancy Citigate Dewe Rogerson in both London and New York. She has also worked for Capital MS&L and Weber Shandwick.

Rachel started her career as a commercial assistant at the British Embassy in Beijing, following which she edited Asian news for Reuters. She then moved briefly into investment banking at Robert Fleming after completing an MBA at Imperial College in London, before she discovered the delights of PR.

Rachel has managed corporate and financial communications for multinationals and small entrepreneurial businesses around the world in a wide variety of industries.

She speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, reasonable French, and understands some Portuguese and Italian.

Rachel won the PR, Public Affairs and Communications Freelancer of the Year Award 2011 for her pro bono work for the Close the Door campaign. You can find out more here.
